Your house was gone, your old life destroyed- so it is no extra grief for you to accept the burden of sending you Uncle to the next life.

Sure, he is archaic in his mentality and honor code but he was a good man and he deserved to have respect and die without living out his remaining years in shame. In walking away, I felt it would be like walking away from everything your uncle taught you. Knew it was the right choice when he called me 'son.' Man that was tough. He had been on my shitlist for some hours at that point, and while killing him wouldвЂ™ve been satisfying, it was much more satisfying to deny him his final wish and make him live out whatever days he had left in dishonor and sorrow because fuck him. He spent the whole game spitting in JinвЂ™s face even though Jin did all the work. If it wasnвЂ™t for Jin and his allies, ALL of those people wouldвЂ™ve died because Shimura and his folks were cooped up at his castle.Д«y the end of the game, I didnвЂ™t give af what Jin felt for Shimura.

THEN you lock my dude up?!? And completely exiles his once he escapes while also sending no help at all to the 3rd area of the game. (I understand that, gameplay-wise, it makes sense for Jin to be the only person helping the lower class people, but still.) Not to mention all of the peasants that Jin saved while Shimura and all of his men were chilling in that fort.

By this point, Jin has saved everybody twice. However, by the end of Act 2, it was more than clear to everybody that the Mongols were a different kind of beast! Shimura fought JinвЂ™s EVERY move while retaking Castle Shimura and had major egg on his face when he realized that everything Jin and Yuna was saying was absolutely right! Following ShimuraвЂ™s plan would have led everybody to their deaths and made way for the Mongols to reach the mainland. Folks were still underestimating the Mongols at the beginning of Act 2, and values can be hard to change. Shimura was still acting a lil pissy at JinвЂ™s methods even though those methods saved his life, but it was still understandable.

Knowing that itвЂ™s against his moral code to go ghost and that the right way to beat the Mongols is to stay full samurai while also dealing with the fact that staying full samurai couldnвЂ™t even save his uncle, much less the island of Tsushima. I spent all of Act 1 just knowing that he was gonna die either right before or as Jin was going in to save him and that it was gonna be ShimuraвЂ™s death and the memory of his lessons that haunted Jin throughout the rest of the game. Shimura and Jin also end the battle and discussion on good terms, so itвЂ™s not as if ShimuraвЂ™s death leaves Jin without any closure or unsettled resentment.ДЄgain, neither of the endings are straightforward good or bad, so itвЂ™s up to you to decide which one you want.I spared him because fuck him. On one hand itвЂ™s bad as youвЂ™re killing a very lovable family figure, but on the other itвЂ™s what he wants and believes in.

The above expressions provide mixed feelings in regard to this ending. Shimura then expresses gratitude to his son and tells Jin to find him in the next life. Jin says that he will make sure Shimura is remembered as вЂњa great warrior, a wise leader, and fatherвЂќ. If you choose to obey his request for an honourable death, Jin gets on his knees and the two have a final heartfelt moment.
